Last night I had the honor of photographing a retirement party for Bob Tavares, a man who touched the lives of so many for 38 years at St. Michael's Country Day School. The evening was a great success... there were laughs, tears, applause, and plenty of shared memories.
Throughout the night I learned that Bob was no ordinary man. He was a teacher, mentor, and friend. He was dedicated to his job, he "bleeds blue and white", loves M&Ms, goes the extra mile, and will do anything for anyone. In the few hours I spent listening to others speak about the impact that Bob had on their lives I found myself saying, "where has Bob been for my whole life?" and " wow, I wish Bob was my teacher as a kid". It seems as though he truly is going to be missed on the grounds of St. Michael's. He is one who will never be replaced, but Bob's presence will carry on through the staff and students who speak so highly of him. After witnessing all of the special moments last night I can honestly say that as I uploaded the images from last night I was thinking... "Wow, who was that bald man?!"
Bob Kidd came along as my assistant photographer and together we captured the evening in a way that will hopefully share the story of the evening with all who attended and those who were unable to make the event. Here is just a small selection of photos thus far. Enjoy your sneak peeks!http://ashleyricherphotography.zenfolio.com/bob_t_st_michaels
